Junior Family Lawyer

We're a supportive, down-to-earth team, and we’re looking to bring on a junior family lawyer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and grow their career with us. We are looking for someone who is early in their legal career and but has some experience in family law. The ideal candidate would be confident managing files with some support, comfortable in court , and focused on helping clients through tough situations with both professionalism and compassion.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing a range of family law files, including divorce, parenting, support, and property division

  • Attending court (Provincial and King’s Bench) for chambers and hearings

  • Drafting pleadings, affidavits, briefs, and settlement agreements

  • Communicating with clients and guiding them through the legal process

What We’re Looking For:

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta

  • Completion of articles ideally with some family law exposure

  • Organized, reliable, and a strong communicator—both written and verbal

  • Comfortable working independently but not afraid to ask questions

  • Experience with mediation or collaborative law

  • Some contested hearing experience

  • A sense of humour (we all need it in family law!)

Family Lawyer (3+ Year Call)

Mint Legal is a growing, client-focused law firm located in the south Calgary. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Family Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a wide range of family law files, including divorce, custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, separation agreements, and more.

What you’ll be Doing:

  • Manage all aspects of family law files from start to finish.

  • Provide legal counsel and representation in court and mediation.

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, agreements, affidavits, and correspondence.

  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date with relevant legislative changes.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent client service.

  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team when appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience practicing family law.

  • Strong knowledge of Alberta family law legislation and court procedures.

  • Proven ability to independently manage files and appear in court.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

  • Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice.
