Legal Assistant - Family Law (Maternity Leave Coverage)
We are seeking a dedicated and driven Legal Assistant to cover a maternity leave. As a legal assistant at Mint Legal, you will be exposed to all aspects of family law practice and gain valuable, hands-on experience working alongside seasoned lawyers. This is an incredible opportunity to develop your skills in a highly supportive and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
Communicate and liaise with clients, opposing lawyers, court staff
Draft basic legal documents for lawyer review
Manage calendar bookings
Assist lawyers in preparing for family law hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
Collect sensitive client information, and update the digital file accordingly
Manage files and maintain organized documentation.
Qualifications
Completion of a Legal Assistant diploma is an asset but not required
Eligible to work in Canada
Strong interest in family law, including divorce, custody, support, and related matters
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Exceptionally high attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Empathy and professionalism when interacting with clients facing emotional and sensitive situations
A commitment to continuous learning and growth
