What You’ll Be Doing
Managing family law files from intake through resolution
Providing legal advice and representation in court, mediation, and settlement discussions
Drafting pleadings, affidavits, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents
Conducting legal research and remaining current on legislative and case law developments
Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent, responsive client service
Collaborating with other members of the firm when appropriate
What We’re Looking For
Current member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
Previous experience practicing family law considered an asset
Strong working knowledge of Alberta family law legislation and court procedures
Demonstrated ability to independently manage files and conduct court appearances
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy practice
Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service
Structure & Pay
Independent contractor (sub-contractor) role
Fee-share compensation model
Expected annual earnings are approximately $120,000, depending on billings and collections
Administrative support, office supplies, desk, technology, computer equipment and collegial firm environment provided
